How can Good Friday be such a good day when Jesus walked through the streets of Jerusalem with a cross on his back?
How can Good Friday be such a good day when they nailed His hands and His feet to the cross, and then hung Him up to die?
How can Good Friday be such a good day when they put a crown of thorns on His head, and the soldiers gambled for His clothes?
How can Good Friday be such a good day when Jesus the son of God died on a cross – a death reserved for murderers, traitors and thieves?
Good Friday is such a good day because Jesus gave His life that we might live. His blood was shed for our forgiveness.
Good Friday is such a good day because people gather to worship Christ our risen Savior who was arrested, beaten, tried, acquitted, exchanged for the guilty, beaten again, made to carry a cross with the weight of the entire world on his shoulders up a hill where he die by crucifixion hanging on a cross in the middle of two thieves.
Good Friday is such a good day because it leads to Resurrection Sunday. Jesus with His death and resurrection, has blazed the pathway for our salvation. You and I can have a relationship with the son of God, You and I can be forgiven for our sins. You and I have can have everlasting life. All of this is possible for you and I because God so loved the world that the Lord gave us His son to die for you and I on this Good Friday.
And that is why Good Friday is such a good day!
