Who are you in the Crowd?

In Mark 5:25-34, a woman who has been suffering with no relief for over twelve years fights a crowd to get healing from Jesus.   A closer look at the text shows that the crowd over the twelve years of her suffering did nothing to help her.

The meaning for us today is clear we are the crowd. And as Christians we are commanded to be of help.

We are commanded to help

-      So that everyone will have equal access to treatment.

-      So that the treatment will be high quality, efficient and effective.

-      So that getting the treatment that you need will not make and keep you broke

So this holiday season – with crowds all around let’s live up to the example of Jesus that we have seen in this text standing out from the crowd to be of comfort, compassion and cheer.
