Dear Heavenly Father
As I pray with and on behalf of those who read and share these writings. The question about what happens when we die has crossed all of our minds.
We know that death happens to everyone regardless of age, race, gender, religion, or status.
Death is the unconquerable foe that has taken over the likes of Alexander the Great, Marylyn Monroe, John Kennedy, Maya Angelou and Ray Charles.
And death will take you and me.
Dear Heavenly Father as I rise this morning never knowing that this day will be my last. I simply take comfort in serving you because the promise of Jesus when he says, in John 11:25 “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.”
So today Heavenly Father in everything I do and everything I say I will live. I will live for you and die with you. For as 1 Corinthians 15:51-54 tells us the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised.
It is in the name of the resurrected Jesus we pray, Amen, Amen, and Amen.
Dear Heavenly Father we come to you on this Monday, some rested others exhausted from the weekend’s activates.
Whatever our condition we all come to you on our knees with a heart of praise as we worship your holy name.
Ephesians 6:10-18 prompts us that today and every day we should stand firm and put on the whole armor of God.
Dear Heavenly Father as we pray to you today we ask that you will guide us as we
- Buckle the belt of truth around our waist
- Put in place the breastplate of righteousness
- Fit our feet with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace
- Take up the shield of faith that will extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one
- Crown our heads with the helmet of salvation
- And place in our hands the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God
In addition to these mighty items we ask that you help keep us alert. As we pledge during this Monday to pray to you with all kinds of prayers and requests for your people.
Now as we depart our prayer closet this Monday to go out and do your will. We ask all of these things in your son’s holy name let every mouth and heart say: Amen, Amen, and Amen.

Dear Heavenly Father:
We are reminded today as we gather to celebrate this wedding, that your son Jesus first displayed His miraculous power of love at a wedding celebration as He turned water into wine.
However, Father as you have showed us the wine Jesus provided that day was so much more than something to drink.
The wine provided that day represents the abundant, endless love that you have for us.
Therefore, as we ready ourselves for the wonderful food that we are about to receive our prayer for this couple that you have joined together is for them to stay strong in you.
Father we hope that they will grow more faithful to you and that they will bask in your abundant, endless love for all the days of their lives.
That same abundant, endless love that Jesus first displayed at a wedding celebration much like the one we are privileged to take part in today.
Now Dear Heavenly Father, we ask you to bless the food that we are about to receive today. Please bless the hands that prepared it and the labors whose money purchased it.
And it is in the delightful, brilliant and perfect name of your only son Jesus that we pray. Let everyone in this room say…..Amen, Amen and Amen.
This was my prayer for a newly married couple. I hope you will group of believers who gather every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 6:30 AM (EDT) for ten minutes of prayer and devotion.

Dear Heavenly Father in 1 Chronicles 4:10 Jabez called on you asking three things first: to enlarge his territory, second for your hand to be with him and third to keep him from evil.
Heavenly Father as we gather together for the last time this week with great anticipation to worship you in our churches this weekend.
We humbly ask that you will
- Enlarge the territory of this call expanding our group to new people.
- Keep your hand with us as we minster to the prison bound and stand in economic solidarity with those who at the bottom of the latter as Dr. King did going to the aid of garbage workers when he was killed in Memphis.
- And finally we ask that you to keep you hand on us. As we fend off attacks from the evil one to comprise our virtue, to disrupt our walk with you, and to live our lives outside your calling.
Father thank you for Erica in leading the call this week. Father thank to all of those who read scripture, led us in song, delivered a devotion and took prayer requests this week.
Father I ask your blessings on the team for next week’s call knowing in advance that our time together will be special and good.
I ask all of this things in your son’s Jesus holy name let everyone on this call say with me:
Amen, Amen, and Amen!

Dear Heavenly Father I stretch my hand to you for there is no other help I know.
In Psalm 69 verse 33 of your word it says: For the Lord hears the needy. And does not despise His people who are prisoners.
Heavenly Father, according to a U.S. Department of Justice report over 7.2 million people are in in prison, on probation, or on parole.
That means roughly 1 in every 32 Americans are under some sort of criminal justice system control.
While the United States represents about 4.4 percent of the world’s population, it houses around 22 percent of the world’s prisoners.
Giving the land of the free and the home of the brave the largest prison population on earth.
Heavenly Father, please give us a compassionate heart for our brothers and sisters in prison. Please give us the spirit to attend to their needs. The time to minister to them in jail and when they get out. Along with the courage to stand up for prison and criminal justice reforms.
We ask you for this and so more because the Lord hears the needy. And does not despise His people who are prisoners.
It is in Jesus name that we pray — Amen

Dear Heavenly Father 48 years ago on this day April 4, 1968 you called your servant the Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King, Jr. home as an assassin’s bullet cut him down in Memphis.
Father as go about our daily work. We pause to thank you for this drum major for justice. We pause to thank for this champion of peace. We pause to thank you for this lamb killed on our behalf.
Heavenly Father, on this day as we reflect on Dr. King’s life, let us also keep focused on you God our creator and giver of life. As you have given us your only son Jesus.
For it is through Jesus’s death and resurrection from the dead that we can all say with conviction and certainty: “Free at last, free at last…Thank God Almighty I am Free at Last.”
This morning it was my honor to have prayed the prayer that you just read as I joined a group of others who gather every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 6:30 AM (EDT) for prayer and devotion.
